Intelligence Page
This page is also in the Groundskeeper wiki: https://github.com/rsjsoftwareltd/groundskeeper/wiki/Intelligence-Page
The Intelligence page is a workspace for stepping back from the live feed. It counts how busy the last 24 hours and 7 days have been, shows which events keep coming back, gives an AI-written briefing, and lets you have a conversation with the AI about your monitoring data.
Open it from the Intelligence item in the sidebar, or at
https://<server-address>:8443/intelligence. Admin and technician accounts can see it. An SLT account cannot.
Most of the page works with no AI at all. Only the briefing and the Ask box need it. See AI Features for switching AI on.
The five numbers #
A row of tiles across the top. They come straight from Groundskeeper's own database, so they load instantly and never wait for the AI.
| Tile | What it counts |
|---|---|
| Events (24h) | Events recorded on the feed in the last 24 hours. |
| Events (7d) | Events recorded in the last 7 days. |
| Active connectors | Connectors that are switched on and have polled at least once. |
| Connectors with events (24h) | How many different connectors have recorded something in the last 24 hours. |
| Last AI run | How long ago the AI briefing was last made, or "Not run". |
The event counts include everything on the feed, so recoveries and information events as well as warnings and criticals. A high number is not a bad sign on its own. The line under the page title repeats the first figure, for example "42 events in the last 24h across 6 connectors".
AI briefing #
On the left. A short summary of where things stand, written by the AI: a headline, then bullet points. It is the same briefing the Dashboard shows at the top of its page, and it is made in the background about every five minutes, so opening this page never waits for the AI.
- Updated ... ago (top right of the card) shows how old the briefing is.
- Refresh briefing (top right of the page) asks for a new one now. The line on the card then says it should update within a minute. The button pauses for a few seconds before you can use it again.
- If AI is switched off, the card says AI features are not configured and links to the AI Provider settings, and Refresh briefing is disabled. The numbers and recurring events still work.
- If AI is on but no briefing has been made yet, the card says it is being generated and should appear within a few minutes.
Recurring events #
On the right, headed "(7 days)". It lists events that were recorded more than once in about the last week, the most frequent first, up to ten. Each row shows how many times it happened, its title, and the connector. Hover over a long title to see all of it.
Events are matched by their exact title and connector. It counts every severity, so a problem and its recovery are separate entries, each with its own count. Use it to spot a fault that keeps returning after it was marked as fixed.
If nothing repeated, it says so.
The Dashboard feed has a related 2nd time in 30 days badge on a row. That one counts the same underlying problem over 30 days. This panel counts identical titles over about seven.
Ask Groundskeeper #
A box for asking the AI questions about your estate in your own words. Type a question and press Enter or click Ask.
- It remembers the conversation. Ask a follow-up ("why does that keep happening?") and it knows what "that" is. It keeps the last three question and answer pairs, and shortens very long messages. Anything older is forgotten.
- It looks at your recent events. Every time you ask, Groundskeeper gives the AI the recent feed again, so answers reflect the estate as it is now, not as it was when the conversation started.
- New conversation (appears after your first question) clears the thread and starts again.
- Try: four buttons fill the box with a ready-made question, such as "What needs fixing most urgently?". Click one, then Ask.
- The thread is kept on the page only. Reloading or leaving the page clears it. Nothing about the conversation is stored on the server for later.
- A reply is shown as "Thinking..." until it arrives. On a small server running a local model this can take a while.
- If AI is off, or the daily limit has been reached, the reply says so. Those replies are shown but are not added to the conversation the AI sees.
Each question counts towards the daily AI question limit, which resets at midnight UTC. See AI Features. With a cloud AI provider, your question and the recent events are passed through the PII scrubber before they are sent. With a local provider they are sent as typed.
The Dashboard has a smaller Ask box with a full conversation link to this page.
